Volt - Demonstrating commercial gaming

Volt - Demonstrating Digital Gaming

The challenge our client faced.

A prospective client asked how Vedette uses games to help solve complex problems and improve team performance. The client supports a wide array of international companies and government organisations. They are keen to provide new and engaging methods to tackle a range of complex problems and asked Vedette to help them differentiate their services, adding even greater value for their customers.

How Vedette responded.

We created Volt. A team from Vedette rapidly created a game that allows players to make strategic investment decisions in a fictional energy company. The game is scalable to allow between five and thirteen players to participate. It offers players the opportunity to take charge of a company department whilst balancing the needs of other department heads and a tight budget. Best of all, the game enhances cooperation and communication within high-functioning teams. You can’t win alone so you pull together to find the optimum solution for the challenges you face. To make it as useful as possible, Volt can be played remotely or in person so whether your team is global or local, Volt can power you forwards.

The results.

Volt has effectively demonstrated the utility of games and Vedette’s agility in responding to complex requirements. Volt has been designed for people with no commercial experience to benefit from a scenario that encourages collaborative problem solving. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Vedette can work with you to create a bespoke game, specifically tailored to your challenges. We work to your requirements, developing tools that unlock the potential of your team to solve complex problems. You’re left with a better outcome, an enhanced team and a relationship that will help you overcome the most demanding strategic challenges ahead.

Building Better Decision-Makers

Junior Officer’s Tactical Awareness Course (JOTAC)

Vedette supported the Army’s Land Warfare Centre by designing a low-complexity wargame to strengthen planning and execution training on the Junior Officers’ Tactics Course (JOTAC). While JOTAC heavily focused on planning, it lacked a practical tool for students to rehearse and execute their plans. Vedette delivered a simple, intuitive wargame that enabled students to practice decision-making in execution without the need for prior system training.
